Our major event is the Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival at Granville Island August each year.
Our other event is "Wooden Boat Alley" at the Vancouver International Boat Show, held every year in January.
The Vancouver Wooden Boat Society is involved in a number of events throughout the year which have included formal and informal cruises during the summer, educational trips, meetings and shows. Keep an eye on this page for notices and dates.
We are planing for the 28th year of hosting of the Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival on Granville Island that is being held on August 27th-30th, 2015. We are accepting reservations from wood boat owners who wish to participate by bringing their vessels to exhibit as well as exhibitors who wish to set up booths at the site. We also are always interested in people who wish to get involved by volunteering to help run the show. This year we are again sponsoring the Family Boatbuilding area which works with groups who wish to build their own Bevin’s Skiff on the site during the show.
Besides the display of beautiful wooden boats, there is entertainment, races and a number of activities for Adults and Children alike. Watch the launching of the Bevan's Skiffs built during the show. Build and launch a model boat with your child at the "Kids Boatbuilding". Sing with or listen to the Sea Shanty Singers.
If you would like to volunteer, participate in or exibit at the 2015 Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival, please contact Jan Bellamy at 604-688-9622 or email us at: Info at Vancouver Wooden Boat Society
